Dangerous Lime Tree Removal in Gee Cross, Hyde

Another specialist tree removal project completed by the ProArb Tree Services team, this time in Gee Cross, Hyde, where two dangerous lime trees needed to be carefully dismantled alongside the roadside.

The trees had become a concern due to their position and the pressure they were placing on the neighbouring stone wall. With both trees standing immediately beside the road, the job needed careful planning to protect the surrounding property, wall and passing road users.

Dismantling Two Dangerous Lime Trees

Due to the location of the trees, we carried out a controlled dismantling rather than attempting to fell them from ground level.

Our team used a MEWP access platform to safely work through the crowns and remove the trees in manageable sections. Larger sections of timber were lowered and handled carefully, particularly where the trees were growing directly alongside the stone boundary wall.

Temporary Traffic Lights and Road Management

Working safely beside a live road was an important part of this project. Temporary traffic lights and a controlled work zone were put in place while the tree removal was underway, allowing our team to operate the MEWP and tree surgery equipment safely.

Good planning meant we were able to dismantle both lime trees, process the resulting timber and clear the working area efficiently.

The complete job was finished in approximately four hours, allowing the road to be fully reopened with minimal disruption.

Recycling the Wood Chippings

Rather than letting the resulting material go to waste, the wood chippings produced during the work were donated to YouTuber Syndicate’s 110 Farm.

Reusing suitable green waste is a great way of giving material from our tree surgery projects another purpose while reducing unnecessary waste.
